Job Summary Leads collaborative innovation and research with educators, students, and partners to advance ʻŌiwi Edge learning and teaching for E Ola!. Develops actionable insights and tools to enhance haumāna-centered learning. Focuses on integrating research to innovate educational systems and tools, fostering experimentation and adoption. Promotes data literacy, continuous learning, and future readiness among educators and students. Anticipates educational trends and builds a visionary research community to keep ʻŌiwi Edge practices at the forefront of educational innovation. Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. May have authority to delegate work and lead through influence.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Research, Hawaiian Studies, quantitative measurement, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in action or applied research.
  • Experience in instructional design and culturally-based environments.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and communication of findings.
  • Successful collaboration with stakeholders and community partners.
  • Strong knowledge of Hawaiian epistemology, research methodologies, and both quantitative and qualitative approaches.
  • Ability to design and implement innovative research within an R&D model.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills within a cross-disciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Technological proficiency with business office suites and relevant technology.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.

  • Experience in adult education and instruction.
  • Facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Lead and conduct research projects with educators, students, and partners to drive innovation in ʻŌiwi Edge learning.
  • Develop and test research strategies, creating actionable insights for haumāna-centered education.
  • Design and implement next-generation educational tools, focusing on scalable and adaptable solutions.
  • Integrate research findings to advance campus programs, ensuring instructional practices enrich haumāna learning experiences.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and continuous learning among educators.
  • Train educators on research methodologies, assessment tools, and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Empower faculty with evidence-based practices and transformative pedagogies.
  • Foster a culture of data literacy and future readiness, anticipating and adapting to emerging educational trends.
  • Establish and lead a dynamic research community dedicated to refining ʻŌiwi Edge practices.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among researchers, educators, and students.
  • Mentor educators in designing and prototyping teaching and learning strategies.
  • Build a visionary research community to keep ʻŌiwi Edge practices at the forefront of educational innovation.
