If you want to tackle hard problems with a team that values speed, rigor, and first-principles thinking, this is the place. About the Role We're looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to design, analyze, and architect power systems across our space portfolio—from launch vehicles to orbital platforms to lunar surface assets. You'll own power system design working at both system and subsystem levels.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace power systems engineering
  • Deep technical knowledge of space power architectures: solar arrays, Li-ion batteries, fuel cells, RTGs, power electronics, and distribution systems
  • Strong understanding of how space power systems fail—and how to prevent it (radiation effects, thermal cycling, single-point failures, degradation mechanisms)
  • Experience with both system-level engineering (requirements, budgets, trades) and hands-on subsystem work (analysis, component selection, test)
  • Proficiency in power system modeling and simulation tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with lunar or planetary surface power systems
  • Background in launch vehicle power systems
  • Familiarity with human-rated systems and NASA/DoD standards
  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Lead power system architecture and design for spacecraft, launch vehicles, and surface assets
  • Perform system-level trades and detailed subsystem analysis (solar arrays, batteries, power electronics, distribution, harnesses)
  • Define requirements, interfaces, and verification approaches for power systems
  • Analyze failure modes, develop fault tolerance strategies, and design for reliability in harsh environments
  • Support integration, test, and anomaly resolution through flight operations
  • Collaborate with thermal, avionics, structures, and mission design teams to optimize integrated vehicle performance
