About The Position

UDRI is looking for a senior level Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) engineer to join the PNT group. This position will be responsible for working, as part of a diverse and skilled technical team, to write software to interface with hardware for our customers conducting alternative navigation research. The ideal candidate will have experience writing software drivers for various types of navigation equipment in multiple software languages and be comfortable with handling priority shifts and deadlines effectively. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or other relevant technical field
  • 8+ years of directly related experience is required
  • Successful experience developing software using C++, Python, and Java to interface with navigation equipment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines effectively
  • Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position
  • Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

  • Professional experience or familiarity with: Source code version control systems such as Git, or similar
  • Professional experience or familiarity with: Database software development
  • Professional experience or familiarity with: Containerizing code into Docker images and deploying Docker containers
  • Professional experience or familiarity with: Experience developing software to communicate and exchange information (e.g. commands, status, data) with hardware devices, sensors, and/or systems
  • Professional experience or familiarity with: Experience synchronizing systems with external time sources
  • Professional experience or familiarity with: Remote flight testing experience
