About The Position

Sobieski Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is looking to hire a full-time Senior Plumbing Mechanic for our Custom Home Division in the Newark, DE & Delaware County area. This role involves independent installation of rough and finish plumbing tasks, reading and interpreting plans, designing piping and material lists, and managing up to three job sites. The company is a growing mechanical contracting firm with a focus on integrity, treating team members like family, and courage. They serve Delaware, South Eastern PA, Richmond-Williamsburg, Virginia, and Maryland markets, specializing in residential and commercial installations of HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, and fire protection.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Post-secondary education or apprenticeship.
Total understanding of all tools and installation practices including but not limited to Pex, PVC, Copper, Plumbing Rough and Plumbing Finish, reading blueprints, designing schedules.
Eight plus (8+) years' experience in construction specific tasks.

Responsibilities

Know with little to no supervision all installation methods, material names and tool usage.
Attend company sponsored training sessions as applicable.
Independent installation of rough and finish tasks immediately upon start date.
Supervisor involvement to be limited to information and material procurement, resolving issues / jobsite changes and scheduling.
Ability to read, interpret and relay all plans, drawings and designs.
Ability to make piping designs and material lists.
Ability to fully run up to 3 job sites with proper information flow to supervisor.
