About The Position

The Senior Plumbing Designer will provide plumbing design services to support the production of construction drawings and specifications for clients. The role offers the opportunity to work across healthcare, Federal, industrial, municipal, and commercial market sectors. The position is located in Charlotte, NC.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of plumbing design experience, including waste and vent systems, supply systems, roof drain calculations and design, equipment and fixture selection, shop drawing review, assessment of existing systems and facilities, and field observation and reporting.
• Familiarity with the International Plumbing Code and NFPA 13.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.
• Excellent work ethic and attitude.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice To Haves

• LEED certification or experience is a plus.
• CPD is preferred.
• Experience designing laboratories or medical facilities is preferred.
• ASSE 6060 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems, including medical and laboratory piping and gases.
• Develop system design calculations and select equipment for use in buildings.
• Prepare detailed design documents.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines.
• Conduct site surveys to determine and document existing conditions.
• Support construction administration services.
