About The Position

The Senior Plumbing Designer leads a team of designers on large projects, monitors long-term project deadlines, and ensures deliverables are met. They also perform quality control on work done by less-experienced designers. This role involves producing new and reviewing existing plumbing designs identified in plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions. The Senior Plumbing Designer identifies design, process, and equipment options to satisfy client requirements, minimize costs, and limit potential operational problems. They interface directly with other disciplines and coordinate with client personnel, contractors, architects, and other project team members to ensure value engineering and the delivery of high-quality projects within prescribed time frames. They determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems, identify the most efficient and acceptable resolution, and give direction to designers and junior engineers assisting with project development.
