About The Position

Our client, a well-established engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated professional to lead plumbing design initiatives, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a variety of exciting commercial, healthcare, institutional, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in plumbing system design, project leadership experience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of plumbing design experience within an MEP consulting environment.
  • Proven experience managing projects and leading engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of: International Plumbing Code (IPC), Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), International Building Code (IBC)
  • Comprehensive understanding of plumbing systems and building design.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) Certification.
  • LEED Accreditation.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and related design software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering and design of plumbing systems for multiple projects.
  • Perform plumbing system selection, sizing, and design calculations.
  • Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary MEP teams, architects, contractors, and clients.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to plumbing design staff.
  • Conduct site visits, field observations, and construction administration activities.
  • Review project deliverables for technical accuracy and quality.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client communications.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource throughout project lifecycles.
