About The Position

The Plumber will be responsible for overseeing and performing complex plumbing tasks, ensuring the efficient operation of all campus plumbing systems. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and functional environment for students, faculty and staff. The Target Hiring Range for the position is $ 57,542 - $63,296 The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six years combined training in electrician trade, or 4 years with applicable license.
• Journeyman or Master license and applicable Class A-D license(s).
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.
• If hired, you will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 form. You will be required to present acceptable and original documents to prove your identity and authorization to work in the United States. Documents need to be presented no later than the third day of employment. Failure to do so will result in loss of employment at TSTC.
• A criminal history background check will be required for the finalist(s) under consideration for this position.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and water supply systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.
• Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.
• Check out tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
• Coordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to their supervisor.
• Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs), often in awkward positions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
