About The Position

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to join our innovative team! In this role, you will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient platform solutions across enterprise data centers, hybrid-cloud environments, and tactically deployed or disconnected settings. You will leverage your expertise in container orchestration, Linux infrastructure, infrastructure automation, DevSecOps, and cloud-native technologies to support mission-critical operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 10+ years of related experience (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Experience in platform engineering, systems engineering, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale infrastructure or platform solutions.
  • Hands-on experience administering and engineering OpenShift and/or Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience implementing automation using Ansible or comparable configuration-management technologies.
  • Experience supporting Linux-based enterprise infrastructure, preferably RHEL.
  • Experience implementing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment methodologies.
  • Experience supporting hybrid-cloud, enterprise data center, and/or edge infrastructure.
  • Experience integrating platform technologies with networking, cybersecurity, application, and enterprise infrastructure components.
  • Experience designing secure, resilient infrastructure for mission-critical workloads.
  • Experience working with technical and operational stakeholders to translate mission requirements into platform architectures and technical solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for platform, infrastructure, networking, container, and automation issues.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance

  • Red Hat Certifications
  • Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, USSOCOM, or other Federal Government environments.
  • Experience deploying platforms into tactically deployed, disconnected, intermittent, limited-bandwidth (DIL), or air-gapped environments.
  • Red Hat OpenStack experience.
  • OpenShift Virtualization experience.
  • Software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) experience.
  • Experience with automated infrastructure remediation and event-driven automation.

  • Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), model training, fine-tuning, and GPU-enabled infrastructure.
  • Experience developing technical solutions in accordance with DoD cybersecurity and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, configure, secure, and maintain enterprise platform infrastructure.
  • Engineer and administer OpenShift and Kubernetes environments supporting mission applications and services.
  • Develop automated deployment, configuration, sustainment, and remediation capabilities using Ansible and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Deploy and maintain RHEL-based infrastructure.
  • Develop standardized platform architectures for consistent deployment across enterprise, cloud, edge, and disconnected environments.
  • Support DevSecOps pipelines and automated software/platform delivery processes.
  • Integrate platform infrastructure with networking, identity, cybersecurity, logging, monitoring, storage, and application services.
  • Develop and maintain platform configuration baselines and reusable automation.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, container, Linux, networking, and automation issues.
  • Support platform modernization and migration activities.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud-native, automation, AI/ML, and infrastructure technologies for mission applicability.
  • Create technical architecture documentation, diagrams, deployment procedures, configuration documentation, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in technical demonstrations, prototypes, proofs of concept, integration events, and operational deployments.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure platform implementations meet DoD security and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and operations personnel.
  • Support mission systems throughout development, integration, testing, deployment, and operational sustainment.
