Senior Platform Engineer

PreVeil Inc
•$125,000 - $150,000

About The Position

PreVeil is hiring a Platform Engineer to own and operate a large AWS estate spanning hundreds to thousands of accounts. The platform is built and maintained from shared infrastructure-as-code templates and automated deployment pipelines. The role focuses on maintaining fleet health, delivering platform features, and automating manual work so the account fleet can grow without a corresponding increase in team size. The work takes place in a regulated environment. Changes follow change control, and resulting records serve as audit evidence. The role calls for simple, robust architecture and strong end-to-end ownership: scoping work, breaking it into manageable pieces, and driving it to completion. The engineer will maintain AWS accounts and their baselines; design, implement, deploy, and operate platform features; extend infrastructure-as-code libraries and pipelines; run containerized workloads and supporting identity, networking, and virtual desktop services; use AI coding tools such as Claude Code to build automation; and monitor platform health and respond to incidents. Success includes knowing which accounts meet the known-good baseline, shipping and owning a production platform feature, reducing recurring manual work, producing audit-ready change evidence, and contributing reliably to incident response.

  • Hands-on AWS experience at multi-account scale, including Organizations, IAM and cross-account access, networking, and container services.
  • Production infrastructure-as-code experience reused across many environments.
  • A track record of owning projects from concept through production.
  • Python, Go, or Bash skills sufficient to build tooling that other people depend on.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server environments, including directory services and group policy.
  • Experience building or substantially improving CI/CD pipelines.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency; visa sponsorship or transfer is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain hundreds to thousands of AWS accounts, including account creation and placement, organization-wide guardrails and identity baselines, per-account configuration, patching, drift, and cost and log hygiene.
  • Keep accounts aligned with a known-good baseline and identify accounts that are not compliant with it.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain platform features, including their code and infrastructure definitions, and own them in production.
  • Automate recurring infrastructure work, including setup, onboarding, and drift checks, to reduce manual effort and toil.
  • Extend infrastructure-as-code libraries and deployment pipelines that target individual accounts or classes of accounts.
  • Run containerized workloads and supporting identity, networking, and virtual desktop services.
  • Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code to build automation.
  • Monitor platform health and respond to incidents.
  • Move changes through change control and produce audit-ready evidence.
