Senior Platform Engineer
About The Position
Ironsite is a construction technology company that uses wearable cameras, AI, and human labeling to improve on-site productivity, safety, and training for construction workers. The company has captured significant video data, raised substantial seed funding, and partnered with a major manufacturer. They are seeking a Senior Engineer to build and scale their platform, which transforms video data into actionable insights for construction teams. This role will involve developing dashboards, labor-management tools, mobile experiences for craftsworkers, and integrations with industry-standard software. The engineer will own critical initiatives impacting thousands of workers and numerous contractors.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack product development in production environments
- Deep expertise across the stack: modern frontend frameworks (React/TypeScript) and backend technologies (Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis)
- Strong background in API design, third-party integrations, and real-time data and analytics surfaces
- Production experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and shipping reliable, high-scale web applications
- Systems thinking for end-to-end product architecture and cross-team integration
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors degree (B.S./B.A.) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with construction management software (Procore, Autodesk, Trimble), HR tech, or similar enterprise workflow tools
- Background building analytics dashboards, reporting systems, and business intelligence surfaces
- Experience shipping mobile web apps with offline/low-connectivity and multi-language support
- Experience with construction, manufacturing, or similar operational industries
Responsibilities
- Build tools for superintendents, including Time & Attendance, Crew Management, Change Order Management, Progress Tracking & As-Builts, and Labor Planning.
- Develop the craftsworker-facing mobile web app, including Profiles, Stats/Achievements/Badges, Rewards Marketplace, exportable resume, and multi-language daily notifications with SMS delivery.
- Build connectors for integrating Ironsite with existing construction and HR stacks (Procore, Autodesk, Trimble, payroll/ERP systems) and develop the underlying API infrastructure.
- Develop internal tools for the labeling operation and the AI team's data engine, including the Tagger Portal, GT dashboards & admin tools, and quality tooling.
- Address technical challenges such as transforming raw model output into accurate, timely dashboards and reports.
- Build integrations with complex and inconsistent enterprise systems.
- Design a mobile web experience for non-technical users in challenging field conditions (low-connectivity, multi-language).
- Scale internal tooling for a growing workforce while maintaining data quality for AI training.
