About The Position

Verve is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their DevOps team and take meaningful ownership of their growing infrastructure. This position is full-time with the option of working on-site from their NYC headquarters. The role involves owning and optimizing Kubernetes clusters, leading infrastructure provisioning, architecting CI/CD pipelines, and driving platform reliability. The engineer will also define observability standards, lead during incidents, and mentor other engineers. Verve is a technology company focused on creating a more efficient and privacy-focused way to buy and monetize advertising, empowering brands and agencies to connect moments of discovery and drive measurable outcomes across screens.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering experience
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes in production environments (GKE)
  • Strong Terraform skills — module authoring and IaC architecture, not just usage
  • Experience with GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipeline design at scale
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, IAM, and security across GCP
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex, ambiguous problems
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing platform culture

Responsibilities

  • Own and optimize Kubernetes clusters (GKE) at scale, including networking, autoscaling, and cost efficiency
  • Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), establishing reusable patterns and enforcing standards across teams
  • Architect, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) with a focus on reliability, security, and developer experience
  • Design and maintain Helm charts for applications and services across multiple environments
  • Drive platform reliability — owning scalability, availability, and disaster recovery strategy (load balancing, auto-scaling, multi-region resilience)
  • Define and implement observability standards across metrics, logging, and tracing (Grafana, New Relic, OpenTelemetry)
  • Serve as a technical lead during incidents on primary revenue-generating applications, owning resolution and contributing to post-mortems
  • Mentor engineers across the team and act as a trusted advisor to development teams on infrastructure best practices, security standards, and platform adoption
  • Contribute to the team’s on-call rotation with a proactive, systems-thinking approach

  • Competitive salary
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus mental health resources
  • 401(k) match
  • Generous PTO
  • Hybrid work environment (NYC office)
  • Free lunch for onsite team members in NYC
  • Volunteer Opportunities
  • Opportunities for professional development in a high-growth ad tech company
