About The Position

DPG is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Platform Engineer to support one of our customer’s premier programs in a classified environment. In this role, you will work closely with a cross functional team of platform engineers and system administrators to design, modernize, and support secure mission infrastructure and cloud enabled capabilities. You will help drive innovation across platform engineering, DevOps, automation, and operational delivery while ensuring solutions align with architecture standards, program objectives, and customer expectations. In this critical role, you will lead the advancement of platform engineering and DevOps practices, helping integrate modern tools, cloud technologies, automation, and processes into a secure mission environment. You will collaborate across engineering and operations teams to improve scalability, performance, security posture, and delivery speed. Note: This position will be filled onsite at an RTX facility in Richardson, Texas .

Requirements

  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Physics, and 5 years of related experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with CI Poly is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into deliverable engineering solutions
  • Proven experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Linux operating systems
  • Hands on experience designing, implementing, and integrating cloud infrastructure solutions, preferably with AWS
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and or Chef
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and toolchains such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitLab, Artifactory, and Helm from a user and integrator perspective
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance such as Security+ CE or equivalent is required

Nice To Haves

  • Strong working knowledge of infrastructure including servers, networking, storage, and virtualization technologies in enterprise or mission environments
  • Advanced experience troubleshooting performance, reliability, and availability issues across Linux based platforms and infrastructure services
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and or Bash used for automation and operational workflows
  • Experience designing and delivering solutions within a DevOps framework, including security integration throughout the software lifecycle
  • Strong AWS experience including architecture, deployment, and security of services such as EC2, EKS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC , with an emphasis on scalability and cost optimization
  • Container and platform engineering experience using Kubernetes and container runtimes such as Docker or Podman
  • Working knowledge of integrating CI/CD pipelines and toolchains to support application teams
  • Experience integrating and supporting COTS and FOSS products in secured or regulated environments

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Senior Platform Engineer for the team, creating capability and feature designs while ensuring alignment with program objectives and delivery commitments
  • Work with the Scrum Master and technical teams to execute Agile development and deliver high quality cloud enabled capabilities on schedule
  • Support delivery and selloff of completed work to customers, ensuring technical acceptance and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Support and maintain a technical roadmap aligned with modern DevOps practices, cloud native architectures, and relevant COTS solutions
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, cloud services, and industry trends to continuously improve platform capability, security posture, and team effectiveness
  • Support and optimize platform performance, automation, reliability, and scalability across mission environments
  • Collaborate with engineers and administrators to integrate infrastructure, tooling, and cloud services into secure program operations
