It is primarily responsible for the effective coordination of the material planning and purchasing in support of production to ensure uninterrupted operation and timely delivery to customers of finished products. Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of supply chain, operations, logistics or relevant experience is required
  • Experience in finished goods or raw material buying/planning is required
  • Must be fully bilingual (English/Spanish, read, write, and speak)
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required
  • Must be able to work with complex planning tools and have extensive knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Must be able to effectively present information to employees at all levels
  • Must be able to write reports, memos, and technical procedures
  • Must be able to translate complex situations into simple working solutions.
  • Must have strong analytical and organization skills and an aptitude for planning
  • Focuses on accuracy and attention to detail on assigned tasks
  • Follows a proactive approach to problem solving and is good at persuading and influencing others
  • Can drive continuous process improvements and is able to work with limited supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Supply Chain / Logistics / Business or related discipline preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in a regulated environment, Pharma / Medical Devices is preferred
  • Green Belt Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or Project Management certifications are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collects information regarding raw material, component and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.
  • Manages and/or maintains raw material inventory investment according to inventory entitlement models and drives improvement opportunities.
  • Reviews and analyses statistical data to determine buying trends/volumes and to establish price objectives and/or opportunities.
  • Compiles and analyses data related to procurement, scheduling and movement of materials and services to facilitate forecasting process.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding improving processes.
  • Assures accuracy of database of suppliers of products used in manufacturing process.
  • Prepares orders to vendors as directed for raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material needed for production.
  • Inventories goods received and identifies discrepancies in order quantity and price.
  • Checks scheduled delivery dates and makes initial contact with suppliers on late deliveries.
  • Escalates issues and notifies appropriate personnel/management as appropriate.
  • Checks with warehouse and production regarding availability and movement of materials to detect shortages or overages.
  • Supports evaluation of potential suppliers.
  • Leads supplier or component S&OP as required.
  • Identifies and drives Lean or Six Sigma improvement initiatives.
