General Description includes modeling and detailing the piping and associated elements of an assigned scope of work in a CB&I project including creation of specific deliverables such as piping isometric drawings, piping area/location/layout drawings, battery limit drawings, standard piping and pipe support details, as well as deliverables that facilitate construction. Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I’s end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction. Ensures effective communications with supervisor, project leads and other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • 5 – 8 years of relevant piping experience.
  • Associate degree in CAD or similar design degree is required.
  • Experienced in working with Microstation or Autocad as well as Smartplant 3D (S3D).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Has developed proficiency of company tools, standards, procedures, and capabilities and solves complex problems, taking a new perspective using existing solutions.
  • Requires conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Produces deliverables that are of high quality.
  • Has advanced self-awareness and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to piping designers with less experience, as needed
  • Read and understand design criteria for specified design
  • Gather supporting documents and information for assigned tasks
  • Read and understand the piping related portions of the EPC contract
  • Review and understand supplier and subcontractor documentation
  • Develop piping models and generate the typical suite of piping drawings
  • Become familiar with in-house standard details and work processes
  • Assist with the development of drawings to facilitate transport and module assembly execution where applicable
  • Coordinate and work closely with other disciplines, the structural team in particular to ensure overall accuracy and quality of the end product
  • Perform piping design and detailing.
  • Facilitate preparation of material bills and/or documents required for requisitioning and subcontracts packages.
  • Review documentation submitted by manufacturers, fabricators and/or subcontractors
