About The Position

The Senior Pipeline Designer will lead design efforts on complex LNG pipeline projects, including transmission and facility projects. This hands-on technical leadership role focuses on design accuracy, project delivery, and mentoring junior team members. The position is based in Downtown Los Angeles, California, with a hybrid work arrangement, and is a one-year contract with potential for extension. Pay is $55–$70 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional design experience.
• Proven experience in utility, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Demonstrated leadership in design execution and team coordination.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and construction practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Expert-level, hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Expert-level, hands-on experience with AVEVA.
• Strong experience with P&IDs, piping layouts, and plan/profile development.

Nice To Haves

• AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar 3D modeling platform experience.
• Experience working on utility or gas transmission projects.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including API, ASME, and ANSI.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced pipeline design projects for transmission and facility projects.
• Develop and review 3D models, layouts, and detailed design drawings.
• Produce plan and profile drawings, P&IDs, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure design intent and project timelines are met.
• Conduct design and model reviews to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level designers.
• Perform field visits to validate site conditions and support design accuracy.
• Support QA/QC processes and ensure high-quality deliverables.
