About The Position

The Doe Run Company, a company with a 160-year history delivering minerals and metals, is seeking a Sr. Pilot Plant Technician. This role involves conducting specific chemical and metallurgical tests in laboratory, piloting, and plant settings, ensuring accurate data collection and observations, and maintaining plant equipment for safe operation. The position is located in Viburnum, Mo, at the Exploration and Development Division, within the Mark Twain National Forest. The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company based in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, and is a global provider of lead, copper, and zinc concentrates. The company is dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production, operating the Resource Recycling facility in Boss, Missouri, and six mines in Missouri. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 year of experience maintaining chemical and/or mechanical equipment
  • Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient knowledge of chemical/production processes and procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical repairs, pump repairs, pipe fitting, fabrication, and construction maintenance
  • Basic chemical and/or metallurgical knowledge.
  • Proficient skill in using small hand tools, advanced measuring, and basic mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Lab or plant setting experience (preferred for the 3 years experience)

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, repair and maintain equipment and assist in the installation of new equipment and the modification of existing equipment.
  • Run tests for the purpose of calculating recoveries.
  • Calculate recoveries based on test results.
  • Conduct/maintain laboratory, piloting, and plant experiments and equipment.
  • Set up pilot plants and maintain equipment for pilot runs.
  • Use software to operate and troubleshoot pilots.
  • Input data and utilize software for spreadsheets, graphs, and reports on tests run for different projects.
  • Provide experimental feedback and results through verbal communication and documents.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health and safety) policies, procedures and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
