Senior Physicist – Radiation Oncology (Exempt status) – Upland, CA Are you ready to be part of a team that’s transforming cancer care and changing lives? We are seeking a full-time, Board-Certified Medical Physicist to join our dynamic team at City of Hope – Upland. You will be part of a thriving community of over 20 Medical Physicists across Southern California, including Duarte and Irvine. Nestled at the base of the breathtaking San Gabriel Mountains, our Upland site offers unparalleled access to City of Hope’s advanced cancer care, clinical trials, genetic counseling, and specialized radiation oncology treatments. Here, you’ll find the resources and support to grow both clinically and in research, while making a tangible impact on patient care every day. What You’ll Do: Lead advanced radiation treatment planning including dose calculations, plan optimization, and rigorous quality assurance to ensure safe, effective, and patient-specific therapies. Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team—radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, therapists, and other clinical staff—demonstrating exceptional communication skills to ensure clear documentation, coordinated workflows, and superior patient care. Leverage state-of-the-art technology to design, implement, and optimize precise cancer treatment solutions, maintaining the highest standards of safety and clinical effectiveness. Software: ARIA Record & Verify System, Eclipse Treatment Planning System v.15+ Hardware: Varian Truebeam v.4.1

Requirements

  • PhD in Physics or related field
  • 5+ years of clinical experience in Radiation Physics
  • ABR or ACMP certification (or eligibility, with certification within 2 years of hire)
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills—you’ll thrive in a collaborative, patient-focused environment, working closely with colleagues to ensure every patient receives the best care possible
