About The Position

At Wycliffe Bible Translators, your work is more than just a job. As a Senior Philanthropy Advisor, you'll be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with mid-level donors who support Wycliffe's work. Through personalized engagement, prayer and thoughtful follow-up, you will represent Wycliffe in ways that encourage continued partnership in Bible translation while helping donors connect their passions and interests to opportunities that advance the organization's mission. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial and prayer support needed to accelerate Bible translation worldwide. By building meaningful relationships and trusted partnerships, you will help increase awareness, advocacy and engagement for Bible translation while creating opportunities for donors to experience the impact of their generosity in helping make God's Word accessible to all people. You’ll partner with Advancement leadership and other team members to: - Strengthen cross-departmental relationships to focus on the mission, vision and core values of Wycliffe Bible Translators. - Support donor relationship engagement efforts to involve interested individuals in the work of Bible translation. - Innovate technology use, enhance business processes and optimize system performance. - Financially resource Bible translation in 2,800+ languages and achieve All-Access Goals. - Accelerate progress and increase impact through a strong focus on ministry to donors. Overview of Advancement Wycliffe USA's Advancement department helps provide needed resources for Bible translation by connecting financial partners with where God is at work around the world. We emphasize ministry to donors, which focuses on caring for donors by building relationships, presenting meaningful partnership opportunities and providing robust reporting on the impact of their investments. Additionally, we position Wycliffe USA to be “all in” to accelerate Bible translation through increased project and field engagement in service to the global Church. You’ll make an impact as you: Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for people from around the world to experience transformation. Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation. Work alongside the Director, team leads, and other team members to: Genuinely care for and minister to our donors. Encourage our donors to advocate for Bible translation and invite others in. Acknowledge and celebrate each other's contributions and successes. Set goals and action plans for daily work, events and vision trips. Contact individuals by telephone, mail or email to thank them for gifts received, send periodic project reports, share the vision of Wycliffe, build relationships, pray with them and solicit funds. Establish and maintain a ministry of personalized relationships with individual donors assigned to the caseload. Oversee caseload of around 700 mid-level donors within the designated area, involving relationship development and execution of moves-management strategy and planning. Identify areas of interest and present project proposals to caseload donors, inviting them to participate financially with Wycliffe. Work in partnership with the Senior Philanthropy Advisor for major gifts in the same geographic region to identify donors with greater giving potential, share contact information and offer assistance as needed. Maintain accurate contact records in the Customer Relations Database. Keep abreast of project funding needs and progress. Assist with events such as small-donor gatherings, as requested, and travel to attend other functions, including donor visits, Vision trips, the President’s Forum and biannual Philanthropy Advisors Team meetings, in order to represent the mid-level donor base well. Assist with special requests and functions as needed, including participating in calling campaigns for lapsed or new donors, supporting requests from the contact center or finance, and engaging with prospective donors interested in learning more about our work. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Philanthropy Advisory Team. Other Requirements: Some travel may be expected for this position.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in fundraising, relationship management, consultative sales, business development, customer engagement or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated success building and managing relationships with individuals or a proven track record in relational fundraising, consultative sales, business development or similar relationship-driven roles.
  • Strong ability to cultivate trust, influence outcomes and engage individuals in meaningful opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
  • Customer service or nonprofit/ministry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates desire and ability to support corporate biblical and religious goals and participate in regular work-related spiritual activities without reservation as evidenced by your active participation and willingness to pray with and for others; be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in all verbal and written, internal and external professional communications.
