About The Position

This posting is for multiple openings of Senior Pharmacy Technician at JACC - Covenant Children's Hospital in Lubbock, TX. We are hiring for the following opportunities: Full Time, Day Shift, 40 hours a week Per Diem or On-Call, Day Shift, Variable Schedule – no guaranteed hours. The Acute Care Pharmacy Technician III performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License
  • Minimum of 2 years (> 4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification -OR- 3 years (> 6240 hours) of hospital pharmacy if technician does not have PTCB certification
  • Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR)

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program
  • Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., compounded sterile products, advanced certified pharmacy technician, medication history certificate, controlled substances)
  • Specialty certification (e.g., ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state

Responsibilities

  • Filling and dispensing unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other ancillary departments.
