About The Position

Perform advanced pharmacy technician functions, supporting pharmacists through clinical data collection and participation in quality and performance improvement initiatives. Lead and coordinate special projects while overseeing auditing processes, barcode verification, controlled substance management, and billing operations, including LTC billing and Medicare Part D claim adjudication. Serve as a technical resource for pharmacy automation and technology, including IV workflow systems, carousels, Pyxis, automated dispensing cabinets, robotics, and compounding operations; provide troubleshooting and advanced cross-training. Support regulatory compliance, inventory control, and drug shortage management; may function as a pharmacist extender and provide operational support across care delivery areas.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
