About The Position

TD Canada Trust is seeking a Senior Personal Banker with a focus on Home Borrowing or Investing. In this role, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional customer experience by providing expert advice on financial products and services, particularly in home borrowing or investment options. You will act as a subject matter expert for both customers and colleagues, maintain a professional branch environment, and engage in proactive customer outreach. The position requires a deep understanding of TDCT products and services, local market trends, and adherence to business policies and procedures. You will also contribute to business objectives by attracting, acquiring, and retaining customers and referrals to drive growth for TD.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and/or Post-Secondary or Undergraduate degree (in a related field) preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) accreditation or equivalent required prior to start date (or within 90 days of start date for external candidates for Home Borrowing role).
  • Certificate in Financial Services Advice (CFSA) within 90 days of hire of start date (or within 6 months of start date for Home Borrowing role).

Responsibilities

  • Create a consistent and exceptional customer experience in the branch, with specialty and predominant focus in home borrowing advice and experiences (or investment advice and experiences).
  • Requires deep knowledge and expertise of the Real Estate Secured Lending products (or investment products); with in-depth knowledge of investing (or Real Estate Secured Lending), day-to-day banking, and all other TDCT products and services.
  • Ask thoughtful questions to uncover and understand Customer needs, owning solutions that align to mandate and bringing in an expert for needs outside of capability.
  • Improve customer financial confidence through ongoing dialogue and by answering questions and providing advice.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the branch for both customers and colleagues regarding all products, services, policies, and procedures of TD – especially regarding both personal banking and business banking products/services or policies/procedures owned within the Branch.
  • Maintain a professional and inviting space in all common areas of the branch, adhering to premises, marketing, and/or regulatory guidelines, paying attention to the office spaces in which the Senior Personal Banker occupies.
  • Consistently engage in proactive customer outreach (via phone, email, etc.) to discuss portfolio updates and/or additional opportunities which best service the customer's needs; responsible for being present in the community for additional customer outreach.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the local market, competitive offers, and economic trends to support advice recommendations.
  • Ensure documentation that is prepared and completed is accurate, properly reflects the customer/business' intentions, and retained in accordance with business policies and procedures.
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
  • Contribute to the achievement of business objectives by proactively attracting, acquiring and retaining customers / advice opportunities and referrals, to drive growth for TD; this role is particularly responsible for achieving market share growth by bringing new business to TD.
