Senior Performance Engineer
About The Position
All Options is looking for a Senior Performance Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. You’ll be the one who understands our trading stack end to end, from network behavior up through order entry and market data, and who gets called when something is slow, wrong, or down during the trading day. From day one, you will work closely with traders and engineers on the trading floor, staying close to critical systems and the people who rely on them. Whether you’re resolving urgent production issues, enabling seamless trade execution, or diving deep into system behavior to identify and address root causes, your impact will be immediate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study
- 5 or more years’ experience in technical support, production engineering, or related roles, including team leadership
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. Python, Shell) and experience with version control systems such as Git
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Linux OS
- Ability to communicate clearly with both traders and developers and to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience in technical support and leading a customer support team is a plus
- Experience with C++ or Rust is a plus
- Previous experience in a financial or trading environment is a plus
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across proprietary trading systems under live market conditions; order entry, market data, execution, risk, and the infrastructure underneath
- Drive continuous improvement and assess the team's tools, workflows, and operational processes
- Provide daily support for proprietary trading systems, diagnosing and resolving critical production issues, and managing incident tracking and reporting
- Build and enhance monitoring tools and dashboards to correlate system performance with trading outcomes, including alerting and automation
- Own incident response end to end: triage, escalation, timelines, postmortems, and the follow-up engineering that prevents recurrence
- Translate business and trading needs into technical designs, and participate in long-term platform planning
