About The Position

Vensure Employer Solutions is a leading HR technology and service provider. As a "One Employer Solution" headquartered in Chandler, Arizona, Vensure helps thousands of businesses streamline and grow their operations with custom strategies that benefit both employers and employees. The Sr Payroll Tax Specialist will provide support between new division partners and internal tax departments. This role involves gathering and analyzing information from new divisions' staff and tax/payroll systems for integration. The specialist will ensure the Payroll Tax department processes liability payments, tax returns, and notices accurately and on time. Additionally, they will complete assigned projects, such as registrations for bulk filing and ACH Credit.

Requirements

  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of payroll tax and the regulatory environment, which includes federal, multi-state, and local tax regulations.
  • The ability to read, understand, and analyze highly complex regulatory payroll tax information.
  • Interpret and analyze complex data, make determinations free from immediate direction, and ensure that payroll taxes are appropriately processed.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and adapt to fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively and possess strong customer service skills.
  • Minimum of three years multi-state, multi-jurisdiction and high-volume Payroll Tax experience.
  • Minimum of one years of recent Senior, Lead or Supervisor experience required.
  • Hands-on tax return processing experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll, federal, state and local wage laws required.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% or more of time and occasionally required to move about inside an office environment.
  • The ability to observe details at close range, using a computer, laptop, or other electronic devices.
  • The ability to communicate information both orally and in written format so others will understand.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must be able to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of workflow, ability to communicate with clients, and ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.

Nice To Haves

  • PEO or related industry experience preferred.
  • MasterTax and Prism/HRP experience preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or Fundamentals of Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead projects to continuously improve the efficiency of the tax department processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
  • Track and provide overall status updates, maintaining project plans and monitoring overall project health.
  • Ensuring projects meet deadlines.
  • Securing growth opportunities and initiating new projects.
  • Optimizing and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
