About The Position

The Senior Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for JASA’s 50+ locations. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you will oversee data validation, reconcile payroll prior to transmission, and resolve employee inquiries. This role requires high-level proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Excel to maintain the financial integrity of our social service mission. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience required.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and Custom Reporting strongly preferred; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
  • Experience with union contracts is preferred; familiarity with nonprofit accounting is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with a high level of integrity for handling confidential data.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining extreme attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and update all payroll data in ADP Workforce Now, including new hires, terminations, and assignment changes.
  • Review timesheets for accuracy; upload files from the ADP E-Time system and verify all necessary approvals.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission, validate reports, and calculate/prepare monthly union benefit payments.
  • Work with HR on benefits changes, the Budget Manager on cost allocation, and Accountants on G/L interface issues.
  • Generate standard and ad hoc reports using ADP Custom Reporting tools; provide accurate data for internal and external audits.
  • Resolve payroll-related inquiries professionally and promptly; collaborate with management to train employees on the ADP E-Time system.
  • Support year-end processes, including W-2 preparation, and maintain archived reports for audit purposes.
  • Serve as the primary payroll backup in the absence of the Payroll Manager.
