The Senior Payroll Specialist plays a vital role in payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for Fello's Self-Directed Services participant employees. This position is responsible for employee updates, tax changes, garnishments, and compliance reporting, and performs a broad range of payroll review activities including timecard review, data entry and confirmation, and analysis of computer-generated data using Paycom. The Senior Payroll Specialist resolves escalated payroll tickets from the Stakeholder Relations team, supports collaboration across Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, and Budget, and backs up other Payroll Specialists as needed. The Senior Payroll Specialist must manage multiple demands and deadlines with versatility and recommend process or automation improvements to increase payroll efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in payroll.
  • Experience with payroll systems.
  • Experience with large-scale payroll processing.
  • Experience with payroll taxes and garnishments.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and accuracy.
  • Ability to get things done in an efficient, respectful, and competent manner.
  • Professional and responsive communication and conduct.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to determine priorities and implement necessary actions to meet reporting and processing deadlines.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Paycom.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and other HR/payroll technology tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for Fello's Self-Directed Services participant employees.
  • Processing employee updates, tax changes, garnishments, and compliance reporting.
