About The Position

This position provides audit and input of assigned academic and non-academic transactions, functioning as the primary source for payroll and personnel policies and procedures. The role advises and assists departmental supervisors on payroll-related issues, processes payroll transactions for academic and non-academic personnel, and assists new employees with completing necessary forms. It is also responsible for departmental foreign national paperwork and compliance for visas, and assists supervisors with the hiring process. The position may maintain sick and vacation leave records, prepare cost-transfers and journals, and maintain personnel and payroll-related files. Additionally, it may assist supervisors with documentation for the employee evaluation process and the annual budget process, ensuring accuracy and completion of PAR’s reports. The role administers the academic bonus plan and faculty compensation plan.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.

Responsibilities

  • Advises and assists departmental supervisors on payroll related issues.
  • Processes payroll transactions for academic and nonacademic personnel.
  • Assists new employees with completing the appropriate new hire, payroll and benefit forms.
  • Responsible for departmental foreign national paperwork and compliance for visas.
  • Assists supervisors with the hiring process including job requisitions, PHS entry and appointment screening.
  • May maintain sick and vacation leave records for staff personnel.
  • Prepares cost-transfers and journals adjusting when necessary.
  • Maintains personnel and payroll related files for department.
  • May assist supervisors with documentation needed for employee evaluation process.
  • May assist in annual budget process.
  • Ensures accuracy and completion of PAR’s reports.
  • Administers academic bonus plan and faculty compensation plan.
