You and Your Job As Senior Payroll and HRIS Partner, you will lead day-to-day payroll operations and provide functional administration and support for Workday HRIS across North America. You will serve as the primary operational contact for payroll, coordinating accurate and timely delivery for employees in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and expatriate populations while performing critical processing, review, reconciliation, tax-filing oversight, ADP management, and issue resolution. You will also support Workday business processes, configuration, testing, data integrity, release readiness, and continuous improvement. Working closely with HR, Finance, Legal, IT, ADP, other vendors, and business stakeholders, you will help maintain compliant, efficient, controlled, and scalable payroll and HR systems operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant payroll, HRIS, or closely related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. payroll operations, accounting, wage and tax concepts, deductions, controls, reconciliations, record retention, and payroll tax filing requirements.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-jurisdictional payroll; Canada, Mexico, and expatriate payroll experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Workday, ADP payroll and tax filing services, related payroll platforms, and advanced Microsoft Excel; hands-on Workday functional administration experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, project coordination, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with discretion when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% regionally
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead North America payroll operations by coordinating payroll calendars, assignments, controls, deadlines, and escalations.
  • Process and review payroll inputs, calculations, multijurisdictional taxes, deductions, special payments, expatriate items, adjustments, and final results.
  • Prepare or review reconciliations, variance analyses, funding files, general ledger support, control evidence, and audit records.
  • Manage payroll tax filing activity with ADP, including agency notices, amendments, registrations, jurisdictional setup, and quarter-end and year-end filings.
  • Resolve complex payroll inquiries and production issues while providing clear, confidential guidance to employees, managers, and HR partners.
  • Administer Workday HCM and payroll-related functionality while partnering with HR, IT, Finance, and vendors to resolve data and integration issues, improve processes, maintain documentation, and support change initiatives.
