About The Position

The Sr. Payroll Analyst is responsible for overseeing and executing payroll processing and analysis to ensure accurate and timely payroll for all employees. This role consists of payroll auditing, data analysis, compliance monitoring, and process improvement initiatives. Strong collaboration with HR is essential, with the Sr. Payroll Analyst serving as a subject matter expert on payroll policies, systems, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years of payroll processing experience
  • At least 1 year in a senior or lead role
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll systems and tools.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • CPP or FCP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and processes regular and special off-cycle multi-state payrolls ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries, resolving complex payroll issues, and providing guidance on payroll-related matters.
  • Reviews payroll calculations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintains organized and complete electronic files.
  • Reviews and analyzes data entry and maintenance of information into payroll systems including employee work, pay, paid time off and time and attendance data.
  • Provides regular ad-hoc reporting to stakeholders.
  • Assists with researching payroll related laws and trends.
  • Leads payroll projects, including system implementations, and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Documents payroll policies, procedures, and workflows, ensuring knowledge transfer across teams and providing training as needed.
  • Reviews and prepares payroll reconciliations and payroll processing prepared by peers.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
