About The Position

Superior Glove is seeking a Payroll Administrator with a dynamic personality, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple payrolls while supporting compliance, reporting, and employee inquiries. The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing Canadian payroll and supporting payroll activities across all SGW locations. This includes year-end processes, managing statutory and regulatory filings, maintaining payroll data accuracy, and providing high-quality service to team members and internal departments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with a mid-size manufacturing or distribution company.
  • Accredited payroll certification; strong understanding of finance practices.
  • Experience working with both Canadian and U.S. payroll required; Mexico payroll experience is considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations; familiarity with U.S. payroll regulations preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and payroll systems (e.g., NetSuite, ADP).
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong report-writing capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • Previous experience coaching / mentoring junior staff preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the payroll team to accurately process payroll for team members on a regular basis, adhering to Canadian payroll regulations.
  • Process various bonus and commission programs (monthly, semi-annual, and annual).
  • Prepare and file all payroll-related statutory filings (e.g., WCB/WSIB, EHT, CPP, OAS).
  • Process and reconcile payroll-related journal entries, including vacation accruals.
  • Validate team member changes, new hires, leaves, departures, and administer benefit programs including RRSP/DPSP and paid time off.
  • Perform regular self-audits and support internal, off-cycle, and year-end audits.
  • Assist team members with issues involving pay, benefits or claims, collaborating with HR.
  • Submit ROEs to Service Canada; process T4s and W2s for Canadian and U.S. payrolls.
  • Maintain full ownership of payroll processes and relationships for Canada, USA, Mexico, and oversee Honduras payroll through partners.
  • Assist in setting up payroll for new U.S. states and Canadian provinces as required.
  • Approve payroll submissions for third-party invoicing.
  • Process premium payments for all benefit programs across locations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate payroll tax filings and remittances with the Financial Analyst.
  • Generate payroll reporting, including semi-annual reporting in collaboration with the HRIS Specialist.
  • Stay current on payroll regulations and tax laws across Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and Honduras.
  • Conduct government surveys and support audits (e.g., Statistics Canada, garnishments).
  • Prepare and balance period-end reports; reconcile payrolls to bank statements.
  • Provide backup support to Finance (e.g., Accounts Payable), HRIS Specialist, and cross-train to support payroll during vacations/absences.
  • Take on ad-hoc and special projects as required.
