About The Position

Ascension Outpatient Center in Schaumburg, Illinois is seeking a Senior Patient Access Representative for their Patient Registration department. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts. The role involves coordinating and scheduling patient procedures, performing patient registration and clerical duties, assisting with insurance pre-certification and authorization, and providing pre-service information to patients and their representatives.

Requirements

High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule patient procedures based on prescribed orders, optimizing patient time and clinical resources while ensuring accurate communication with patients, participants, and staff.
Perform patient registration and clerical duties, accurately collecting and entering demographic, insurance, and clinical information into appropriate systems.
Coordinate procedure schedules and assist with insurance pre-certification and authorization activities, resolving scheduling and procedural issues through appropriate resources.
Provide patients, participants, and representatives with clear pre-service requirements, instructions, and support while serving as a resource to staff and facilitating effective communication.
