About The Position

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Patent Counsel to join our Group Patents team as part of the global IP organization in the Group Legal function. The role is based in Charlotte, United States, and will report to the global Head of Patents. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and coordinate patent-related support for Electrolux’ activities in North America to strengthen the company’s patent position and to enable the business to conduct its business plans. The Group Patents team works closely with product lines and R&D worldwide to achieve business objectives and has a core role in the creation, maintenance and use of intellectual property rights across the Group as well as identifying and managing patent risk.

Requirements

  • Registered US Patent Attorney
  • Academic technical degree with broad technical competence
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant patent law experience
  • Strong experience with US patent prosecution and patent portfolio management
  • Fluency in English is required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as part of a global team of patent specialists, leading US (North America) patent practice activities
  • Provide strategic, business-focused patent and IP guidance for product development projects and advanced technology initiatives
  • Identify patentable inventions and assess business relevance, patentability, and scope of protection
  • Manage patent matters from internal review and decision-making through filing, prosecution, and grant
  • Support freedom-to-operate investigations and proactively mitigate IP risks
  • Assist with patent litigation support and related intellectual property matters
  • Partner with and manage external US patent counsel for patent preparation and prosecution activities
  • Support development of internal capabilities for drafting, filing, prosecuting patent applications, and handling USPTO post-grant actions
  • Ensure compliance with US patent standards, legal practices, and USPTO requirements
  • Build strong partnerships across Electrolux North America as a trusted advisor on patent matters
  • Provide patent-related training and guidance to North America personnel
  • Collaborate closely with product development teams to support innovation and intellectual asset protection
