About The Position

New Hope Community Church is a healthy, growing Free Methodist congregation in Walton, New York, with an average weekly attendance of approximately 165. The church is known for its community engagement, financial stability, and debt-free status. The Senior Pastor will oversee this community-focused church, working with strong lay leaders who have significant ministry responsibility. The role involves equipping and coaching these leaders, strengthening external partnerships with local schools and the wider community, and developing disciples who make disciples. The ideal candidate will be a relational, community-minded leader embracing Wesleyan theology, with a proven ability to develop leaders, make disciples, and build ministries for long-term growth. This candidate should possess a heart for ministry, a collaborative spirit, and a desire to invest deeply in both the congregation and the surrounding community.

Responsibilities

• Preach and teach the Word of God, incorporating practical life application.
• Work with leadership boards, ministry teams, and community partners.
• Expand the strategic mission to develop disciples who make disciples.
• Nurture and develop leaders within the church to carry out the Church’s mission.
• Build community partnerships in small to midsize communities.
• Expand community capacity that aligns with the mission of the church.
• Promote the global-local mission of the church.
