About The Position

Kentro is hiring a Senior Palantir Foundry Engineer to support the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO). This position will provide hands-on technical leadership in designing, developing, integrating, and optimizing data solutions within the Palantir Foundry platform. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Palantir Foundry and the ability to translate complex operational requirements into scalable data products, pipelines, and analytical capabilities. This individual will work closely with data engineers, software engineers, data scientists, analysts, mission owners, and government stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and mission-focused data solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered in accordance with contract and position requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, data platform engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience developing solutions within Palantir Foundry.
  • Experience designing and implementing production-grade data pipelines and data products.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple structured and unstructured sources.
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational data technologies.
  • Experience supporting data engineering solutions in DoD, federal, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Experience collaborating directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate mission requirements into technical solutions.
  • Minimum active Top Secret clearance required
  • US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card)

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience supporting USASOC, USSOCOM, or another Special Operations Forces organization.
  • Previous experience supporting a Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) or comparable enterprise data organization.
  • Experience developing Foundry solutions for DoD mission, intelligence, operations, logistics, or command-and-control use cases.
  • Experience working with Foundry in classified or air-gapped environments.
  • Experience with Foundry Ontology development and operationalization.
  • Experience building Foundry applications using Workshop, Slate, or similar Foundry application-development capabilities.
  • Experience integrating Foundry with enterprise APIs, databases, message queues, cloud services, and external applications.
  • Experience with data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience deploying machine learning or advanced analytics capabilities into operational data workflows.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with DoD data standards, enterprise data architectures, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience working in TS/SCI or other classified environments.
  • Experience supporting systems subject to RMF/ATO requirements.
  • Palantir Foundry certification or demonstrated equivalent platform expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, datasets, and data products within the Palantir Foundry platform.
  • Develop and optimize Foundry pipelines using Python, SQL, PySpark, and Foundry-native technologies.
  • Build and maintain Foundry data transformations, workflows, datasets, and analytical applications supporting USASOC mission requirements.
  • Develop and manage Ontology models that represent operational entities, relationships, actions, and mission data.
  • Integrate data from disparate enterprise, operational, and mission systems into Foundry.
  • Design data ingestion, transformation, validation, and quality processes to ensure reliable and trusted data products.
  • Work with data scientists, analysts, and mission users to operationalize analytical models and workflows within Foundry.
  • Develop reusable data products and services that support CDAO analytics and decision-making capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, data quality issues, performance problems, and integration challenges.
  • Optimize Foundry pipelines and data products for scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Support the development and deployment of Foundry applications and workflows that provide actionable insights to mission stakeholders.
  • Apply data governance, access controls, security requirements, and data management practices within the platform.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and systems engineering teams to ensure data solutions operate within applicable security and authorization requirements.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and translate mission requirements into technical implementation plans.
  • Document data architectures, pipeline designs, integrations, dependencies, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on Foundry development, data engineering, and platform best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement of CDAO's data engineering architecture, development standards, and engineering practices.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, stand-ups, demonstrations, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Coordinate directly with government technical leads and mission stakeholders to identify requirements, resolve technical issues, and prioritize development efforts.
