About The Position

H/L is looking for a Senior Paid Search Specialist. This is a hands-on position that requires deep knowledge of paid search best practices. This person will not just be functional on the day-to-day of the search platforms—they will know how to strategically leverage them on behalf of a client in the insurance space. This person will be responsible for campaign setup and optimization across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, utilizing paid search tools such as platform editors and Search Ads 360 to upload and amend campaigns. They will also mentor and train a team of search media specialists and coordinators, with support from the manager and director. This is a hybrid role, with both office-based work at the H/L Oakland, CA office and remote work. While preference may be given to candidates in the Oakland area, we are also open to remote candidates located in the U.S.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience managing and executing paid search media campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads
  • Strong knowledge across all search platforms and have planned and placed paid search media buys in excess of $1 million annually
  • A strong understanding of best practices across Google and Microsoft Ads
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentational skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with remote team members
  • Flexible and have a proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with concurrent and competing deadlines
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Passion for and understand how different media channels work together in a campaign
  • Meticulous, conscientious, and work with a sense of urgency
  • A good understanding of all digital media disciplines
  • Thrive in a client-centric environment
  • Superior organizational skills and are attentive to details
  • Able to mentor and train search specialists in paid search best practices, with guidance from the manager and director

Responsibilities

  • Manage the setup and optimization of SEM campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads
  • Monitor reporting and deep dive into campaign analytics to find opportunities to maximize revenue and return on investment
  • Monitor search category trends and provide insights that guide our landing page strategy
  • Utilize test-driven marketing strategies to continuously improve marketing messaging, positioning, and budget optimization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and test new strategies
  • Engage with top industry partners (Google, Microsoft, etc.) and the latest ad products
  • Forecast revenue and pace for weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals by product and campaign
  • Act as the main point of contact for the client, internal departments, and third-party providers; guided by the Paid Search Manager, you will spearhead collaboration, facilitate discussions, planning, and project management
  • Help implement and understand the bidding strategies and goals for client campaigns
  • Attend weekly meetings, ready to give updates on KPIs, performance, launches, traffic changes, and other details on assigned clients
  • Help manage team tasks in Asana, based on notes from team meetings and conversations with the search specialist, manager, or director
  • Develop and deliver presentations, points of view, business cases, and performance reports
  • Present search campaign results to internal and external client teams, explaining performance and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Provide proactive mentorship of Search Specialists supporting accounts; effectively communicate task execution and timeline requirements, strategic guidance, and constructive feedback to aid in their growth
  • Actively monitor and share industry news, online marketing trends, industry tools, and internal cross-team key learnings
  • Meet with the Search Manager on at least a quarterly basis to set goals and take on projects for personal growth and wider departmental development

Benefits

  • Projected compensation ranges for each position as an estimate of the company’s reasonable pay range for the role. The salary range for this position is expected to be between $80,000 and $90,000 annually.
  • Compensation for candidates outside of California is determined based on the same factors and varies by geographic area.
  • H/L participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. only after a job offer is accepted and Form I-9 is completed.
