About The Position

We’re looking for a Field Service Technician III with strong testing and troubleshooting experience who are ready to take on challenging fieldwork across the country. In this hands-on role, you’ll test, maintain, and commission low to high-voltage systems at power plants, hydroelectric dams, and other industrial sites. You’ll work with relays, transformers, breakers, SCADA systems, and more—bringing reliable energy solutions to life. Requirements

  • 3–5 years of field experience testing, maintaining, and commissioning power systems up to 500kV
  • Experience with megohmmeters, TTRs, contact resistance testers, and insulation testers
  • Familiarity with PowerDB or similar test documentation software
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, and field safety standards
  • Able to read and interpret schematics and one-line diagrams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Organized, safety-conscious, and able to manage time and priorities independently
  • Flexible for overtime, weekends, holidays, and night work.
  • Able to travel frequently (75%0 with overnight stays as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • NETA Level II or higher certification
  • Apparatus (electrical MV, LV equipment testing, or NETA testing experience)
  • An associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology, Power Systems, or Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Test, maintain, and collect data on low, medium, and high voltage systems (480V–600kV), including breakers, relays, switchgear, cables, and transformers
  • Run standard field tests (TTR, insulation resistance, Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, DC Hi-Pot)
  • Test relays (electromechanical and solid-state) with minimal supervision
  • Troubleshoot control circuits, relay logic, and protection schemes
  • Function check control panels, trip/alarm circuits, and SCADA signal integrity
  • Read and interpret schematics, drawings, manuals, and one-line diagrams
  • Keep accurate reports, logs, and equipment calibration records
  • Previous experience working in data centers, commercial and industrial settings
