Skeleton Key is a game development studio and division of Wizards of the Coast. We are a group of industry veterans who are guided by the belief that empowering our teams and providing the necessary time, tools, and support we can foster a creative culture where everyone can do their best work. Our studio is located in Austin, TX, and we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Outsource Producer to join us and bring our first AAA game to life. This role will be based out of Austin, TX.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of AAA game development pipelines, particularly art, asset creation, and world-building workflows.
  • Experience managing external vendors or co-development teams across multiple time zones.
  • Proven experience with scheduling, budgeting, asset tracking, and delivery management.
  • Proficiency with production and version control tools such as JIRA and Perforce.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines.
  • Ability to identify risks, solve problems proactively, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in production, outsourcing, or a related role within game development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, managing communication, expectations, and delivery.
  • Drive planning and execution for outsourced development, including scheduling, budgeting, and scope management.
  • Partner with internal teams to define requirements, priorities, and deliverables for external work.
  • Source, onboard, and manage external vendors and co-development partners to support project needs.
  • Establish and maintain pipelines, workflows, and best practices for external development and asset tracking.
  • Track progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues impacting delivery, quality, or timelines.
  • Collaborate with Production, Leads, and Directors to ensure alignment with project goals, vision, and quality standards.
  • Report regularly to studio leadership on external development progress, budgets, risks, and partner performance.
