About The Position

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Senior Sales Representative will work closely with the account management team and will be responsible for purchasing scrap products (from dealers/intercompany sources). The role also involves developing and maintaining outstanding business relationships with both new and existing clients. This position requires a dynamic, proactive individual who can collaborate closely with all company departments, as well as with clients and suppliers.

Requirements

  • College diploma in business, sales, or marketing (or equivalent education/experience)
  • 3+ years of experience (recycling industry, ferrous and non-ferrous metals considered an asset)
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent math, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of metal alloy identification is an asset but not required
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel across the territory
  • Experience with CRM systems is an asset
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset for the Quebec region
  • Strong leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Purchase scrap metal to meet or exceed tonnage targets while optimizing profit margins
  • Visit dealers and industrial suppliers, by phone or in person, to drive new and repeat business, quote prices, provide customer service, answer questions, handle complaints, and build relationships
  • Prospect and develop new clients
  • Build reliable networks to stay informed on local and regional market trends and pricing
  • Negotiate new contracts with clients
  • Perform P&L analysis
  • Leverage knowledge of sorting and processing operations to optimize pricing decisions
  • Coordinate with administrative staff and the commercial team to ensure accurate and timely documentation of all purchase transactions
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on scrap purchasing prices for AIM-operated sites
  • Carry out special projects as assigned
  • Manage and lead a team
  • Provide coaching and support to team members
  • Perform any other related duties
