About The Position

As a Senior Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing new prospects and maintaining relationships with established customers to sell Company products. This role requires customary and regular in-person interaction with prospects and customers at their business sites or other off-site locations. Your primary objective will be to meet or exceed assigned annual gross margin budgets by promoting and selling products to more complex accounts within your assigned territory, adhering to the Company's pricing policies. Graybar, a Fortune 500 company, specializes in supply chain management services and is a leading North American distributor of high-quality components, equipment, and materials. The company serves the construction, commercial, institutional, government (CIG), industrial, and utility markets, providing products and services for new construction, infrastructure updates, building renovation, facility maintenance, repair and operations, and original equipment manufacturing.

Requirements

  • 5 years experience required
  • Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals
  • Ability to sell and be persuasive
  • Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel
  • Use of personal vehicle for business purposes

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed assigned annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products to more complex accounts in assigned territory in compliance with the Company's pricing policies
  • Handle customer complaints promptly and effectively, and report potential claims
  • Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions
  • Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed, and recommend new items for stock
  • Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of business transactions; assist in collection of past due accounts
  • Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested
  • Demonstrate products after sale when necessary
