Position Summary The Senior OT Engineer will provide operational and technical support for Midstream Operational Technology (OT) environments, including server, network, and infrastructure systems across geographically distributed assets. This role requires deep expertise in network engineering and server administration, including routing and switching, firewall and security controls, virtualization, Windows/Linux server management, patching, and performance tuning of mission-critical systems. This role is responsible for translating business and operational requirements into secure, reliable, and scalable technical solutions that align with Midstream standards. The position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Process Control, and third-party vendors, to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and ensure system performance and availability. The Senior OT Engineer serves as a senior technical resource, leading complex problem resolution, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the lifecycle of OT systems from design through operations. This role champions compliance, cybersecurity, and change management practices to enhance the reliability, resilience, and security of critical infrastructure. The successful candidate must operate with an operations-first mindset, supporting systems that directly impact safe, continuous business operations, and is expected to adhere to all safety and operational standards while working in live production environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Certifications: Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), CompTIA Network+ or Security+, Microsoft or Linux server certifications, VMware (VCP)
  • Professional certification, e.g. Security+, Network+, OSCP, GIAC, CEH preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies performance bottlenecks, conducts root cause analysis, and proposes and implements solutions to enhance system performance and resource utilization.
  • Establishes performance benchmarks, conducts capacity planning, and collaborates with other teams to optimize infrastructure performance.
  • Collaborates with junior engineers & cross-functional teams to implement performance tuning strategies and optimize system resources for better efficiency.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of troubleshooting procedures, measures to minimize system downtime, and documentation.
  • Leads and manages technical support activities and troubleshooting efforts for infrastructure, including handling escalated and complex issues.
  • Leads vendor technical support to drive for resolutions.
  • Performs advanced system tuning and optimization to maximize performance using IT Service Management practices.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to enhance support processes and methodologies.
  • Analyzes performance and utilization data to identify trends and patterns; provides recommendations for optimization and corrective actions to drive for continuous improvement; prepares comprehensive reports on infrastructure performance.
  • Leads the design and configuration of complex hardware and software systems, considering best practices and industry standards.
  • Builds and deploys highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Leads the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive knowledge base for infrastructure-related topics, including troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, and best practices.
  • Promotes knowledge sharing culture by organizing training sessions, mentoring junior engineers, and encouraging cross-team collaboration.
  • Collaborates with the process Owner and identifies trends in issues and determines the root cause to reduce future issues.
  • Executes the regular analysis and interpretation of traffic and utilization of services on network connections.
  • Leads the improvement recommendations and presents effectively to senior and executive management and global teams.
  • Presents and leads client meetings with the business and development teams.
  • Communicates with senior leaders for understanding and execution of cross functional complex processes and applications to solve for client requirements.
