The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, aligning, testing and configuring small form factor optical, electronic and mechanical components. All work is performed in accordance with released procedures and assembly drawings and in a clean room environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years‚ performing opto-mechanical design and development optical systems layout, optical systems and geometric tolerancing.
  • Experienced in Opto-mechanical engineering, Optical Systems, Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5), Handling and securing Unclassified Controlled Information (CUI), ITAR., and designing for precision manufacturing processes.
  • Proven technical aptitude with ability to discern technical approaches by asking the right questions of the team and communicate updates across multiple organizational levels.
  • Able to make sound decisions by blending analytical thinking with practical judgment

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research, creating design proposals, troubleshooting issues, and performing quality control on opto-mechanical systems.
  • Designing, analyzing, and testing opto-mechanical systems.
  • Developing detailed mechanical and opto-mechanical designs.
  • Creating and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Working closely with optical and mechanical engineers to integrate components.
  • Performing system analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Conducting performance tests and system integration.
  • Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensuring all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes conform to the organization’s established policies and objectives.
