This is an exciting, rare, and unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Operational Emergency Services Leader to join Airservices Australia as a Line Leader within our Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Service (ARRFS) Team. Reporting to our Head of Aerodrome Services, you will ultimately be responsible for the safety, leadership, and performance of ARRFS teams within your respected station location, including workforce planning, managing budgets and operational costs, and effective delivery of our services to our clients.

Requirements

  • Extensive people management experience, particularly within an emergency first-responder environment
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Extensive management experience in a similar operational environment, preferably within a highly regulated industry
  • Strong communication, leadership and management skills which will support, motivate and influence others in the achievement of goals and objectives
  • Diploma of Public Safety, Firefighting Management (PUA50519 or PUA50513) is essential
  • Extensive people and change management capabilities
  • Ability to partner with, encourage and influence others across all levels
  • Demonstrated business and safety/risk management expertise
  • Ability to manage high workloads, set priorities & meet deadlines
  • Commitment to all things related to health, safety & wellbeing
  • Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Must be able to undertake and hold a medical based on the Civil Aviation Safety Authority Class 2 Medical Examination.
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident as an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance is required.

  • Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy Course (HLTAID015) desirable

Responsibilities

  • Adherence to regulatory and organisational compliance requirements
  • Uphold operational excellence and maintain workplace safety and compliance
  • Accountable for the engagement and performance of your people by actively monitoring individual and team performance/behaviours and take action to address performance/conduct issues
  • Optimise, maximise and manage resources to meet operational requirements and deliver required services within set timeframes by the National Rostering Team, Shift Manager/s and Business Support
  • Identify and deliver solutions to new and emerging operational risks
  • Define performance expectations and provide coaching/mentoring
  • Maintain financial requirements and propose/implement cost saving initiatives
