Senior OmniStudio Developer

The Plum Tree Group,

About The Position

This is a senior, hands-on developer role focused on federal and healthcare Salesforce engagements. The developer will own OmniStudio design, build, and technical quality across multi-release programs. This position requires Public Trust clearance eligibility and reports into the Customer Success & Delivery organization, working alongside engagement managers, architects, developers, QA, client product owners, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years Salesforce development, 4+ years hands-on OmniStudio (formerly Vlocity).
  • Salesforce Certified OmniStudio Developer or Consultant (current).
  • One or more of: Platform Developer II, Application Architect, Industries CPQ Developer.
  • Deep expertise in OmniScripts, FlexCards, Integration Procedures, DataRaptors, and OmniStudio + LWC patterns.
  • Strong Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, async processing, platform fundamentals.
  • Production experience in Health Cloud, Public Sector Solutions, or Financial Services Cloud.
  • Salesforce DevOps tooling (Copado, Gearset, Flosum, or DevOps Center) with disciplined CI/CD for OmniStudio packages.
  • Strong grasp of Salesforce security: profiles, perm sets, sharing, FLS, Named Credentials, OAuth, JWT.
  • Track record delivering on time within fixed-fee or capped consulting engagements.
  • Daily, fluent use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf, etc.) in real production work.
  • Effective prompt engineering for code generation, refactoring, code review, test authoring.
  • Applied AI to Salesforce-specific work: Apex generation/review, OmniScript JSON authoring, DataRaptor design, test classes, documentation, metadata migration.
  • Working understanding of the Salesforce AI stack — Einstein, Agentforce, Prompt Builder, Einstein Trust Layer, Data Cloud — and how it fits HIPAA/federal deployments.
  • Judgment on when AI output requires hard validation: security, PII, generated test coverage, hallucinated APIs, license/compliance risk.
  • Comfort building and sharing internal AI workflows — prompt libraries, agentic pipelines, MCP integrations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust, or higher as required by sponsoring agency).
  • U.S. citizen.
  • Pass federal background investigation: criminal, credit, employment (prior 7 years), education, references.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening, including for substances federally controlled regardless of state law.
  • No unresolved federal tax delinquencies, civil judgments, or other adjudication factors.
  • Willing to be fingerprinted and undergo periodic reinvestigation.
  • Disclose foreign contacts, travel, financial interests, and dual citizenship as required.
  • Must maintain continuous eligibility throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Public Trust or higher clearance strongly preferred.
  • Working familiarity with HIPAA, HITRUST, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or StateRAMP.
  • Prior consulting/SI experience (Deloitte, Accenture, Slalom, Silverline, NTT, Capgemini, Booz Allen, or peer).
  • Managed services, AMS, or hypercare engagement experience with NTE caps and SLA discipline.
  • Bachelor's in CS, Engineering, or related — or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and build of OmniScripts, FlexCards, Integration Procedures, DataRaptors, and Data Mappers.
  • Architect integrations between OmniStudio, Apex, LWC, and external systems (REST, SOAP, MuleSoft, AppExchange packages).
  • Extend Salesforce Industries clouds — Health Cloud, Public Sector Solutions, Financial Services Cloud.
  • Own code reviews, CI/CD pipelines (Copado, Gearset, Flosum, or DevOps Center), and migration strategy.
  • Translate ambiguous client requirements into well-scoped technical solutions; push back when scope is unrealistic.
  • Mentor mid-level and offshore developers; raise the bar on quality and AI-augmented practices.
  • Participate in client discovery, design reviews, and demos.
  • Contribute to Synaptic's reusable IP — patterns, accelerators, prompt libraries.
