DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan is seeking an innovative and experienced healthcare leader to drive excellence and inspire our team towards exceptional patient outcomes and operational success. This role provides oversight to the occupational therapy team, assists department leadership in overseeing day-to-day operations, and resolves problems. The Senior Occupational Therapist coordinates staff work schedules and patient care assignments to ensure timely service delivery, and enforces department policies and procedures for efficient provision of occupational therapy services. This position assumes supervisory responsibility in the absence of department leadership, participates in the selection and evaluation of occupational therapy personnel, and coordinates and participates in department performance improvement activities. The role serves as a clinical resource, mentors staff, provides in-service education, and oversees and evaluates occupational therapy staff. Additionally, the Senior Occupational Therapist assists with the volunteer program, functions as a role model for customer service, and assists in marketing occupational therapy services. The role also serves as a clinical resource for community-based agencies, institutions, and universities, and assists management in department functions and special projects such as utilization review, quality assurance, program development, and committee work. The Senior Occupational Therapist also conducts studies and research projects as requested and performs all duties of an Occupational Therapist as required.
