About The Position

As a float pool nurse tech, you will float to different areas of Big Rapids and Reed City Hospitals, including the Emergency Department and Med Surg. All of these areas are fast-paced and allow our employees the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a variety of areas. The scope of work involves acting as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. You will perform basic skills per department guidelines and communicate observations to the healthcare team. This includes collecting and reporting physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with the RN or Provider. Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization, and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensuring that required documentation is performed accurately and in a timely manner is also a key part of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
