About The Position

We are hiring a Senior Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Level III Technical Analyst in Tukwila, WA to support aerospace NDT/NDE inspection procedures, certification, qualification, and emerging inspection technologies for commercial and defense aircraft programs, including the 737, 747, 767, 777, 787, KC-46, and B-1B. This 12-month, 100% on-site role requires ASNT/NAS410-compliant Level III certification in Eddy Current Testing (ET) or Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and experience developing NDT procedures, CAD calibration standards, inspection techniques, and Level III technical support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of combined education and work experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
  • Current certification from the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) / NAS410.
  • NAS410-compliant Level III certification in Eddy Current Testing (ET) or Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
  • Ability to provide documentation of certified NDT hours.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, overtime, and weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 15% of the time.
  • Ability to work 100% on-site in Tukwila, WA; out-of-state candidates must relocate at their own expense.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of related NDT work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current ASNT/NAS410 certification.
  • NAS410-compliant Level III certification in ET, UT, or Radiographic Testing (RT), with Level III certification in at least one additional method, or eligibility for certification in an additional method within six months.
  • Experience serving as a Principal or Responsible Level III in ET, UT, or RT, including training Level III personnel within those methods.
  • Advanced Ultrasonic Testing experience, including Phased Array UT, Shear-Wave UT, immersion UT, bubbler UT systems, and other advanced ultrasonic methods.
  • Advanced Eddy Current Testing experience, including Eddy Current Array, Low-Frequency Eddy Current (LFEC), Medium-Frequency Eddy Current (MFEC), and other advanced ET methods.
  • Advanced Radiographic Testing experience with film radiography, Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), and Computed Tomography (CT).
  • 1,200 hours of Ultrasonic Testing (UT), including 600+ hours of Ultrasonic Shear-Wave Testing.
  • 1,200 hours of Eddy Current Testing (ET), including 600+ hours of LFEC.
  • 1,200 hours of Radiographic Testing (RT), including 600+ hours of casting inspection experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD software.
  • Experience developing UT, ET, and RT inspection techniques and NDT procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Author Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures supporting aerospace inspection and in-service aircraft requirements.
  • Incorporate revisions authored by the method Responsible Level III into the standard procedure review process.
  • Develop Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings for specialized NDT calibration standards.
  • Set up nondestructive test and measurement equipment using applicable calibration standards.
  • Develop technical procedure figures identifying inspection locations, geometry, accessibility, probe/transducer placement, and notch signal response.
  • Provide emergent Level III NDT technical support for commercial aircraft across the Puget Sound region.
  • Identify and report potential adverse trends, anomalous inspection results, and testing concerns.
  • Support NDT/NDE activities across the aircraft product lifecycle, including active airframe support and post-production test and evaluation.
