About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Nondestructive Test (NDT) Technician - UT to join their Quality Organization in St. Louis, MO. This role involves conducting Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on aerospace products using methods such as ultrasonic (UT), eddy current (ET), and radiographic (RT). The technician will work with digital and automated inspection systems in an aerospace environment, adhering to industry standards and regulations. Opportunities for skill growth and advancement are available based on performance. Employees must obtain Boeing NDT certification and pass a vision exam; failure to do so may result in termination.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Formal, documented hours of NDT training/experience or military equivalent
  • Level III NDT certification in UT
  • More than 5 years of experience reading, understanding and interpreting engineering technical information (e.g., drawings, handbooks, industry standards and specifications)
  • More than 5 years of experience interpreting/developing policies, practices, processes, and procedures as they apply to technical documentation to ensure quality product delivery
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • More than 5 years of experience conducting NDT certification preparation training (developing certification training and examinations) providing necessary guidance and/or supervision to Trainees, Level I and II NDT Certified personnel
  • Skills and knowledge to audit NDT facilities for compliance with applicable requirements.
  • More than 5 years of NDT experience in aerospace composite inspection
  • Technical/Vocational education in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Guides the development, implementation, or improvement of non-destructive inspection or test techniques.
  • Develops, deploys and implements tests or inspections and data collection techniques utilizing evolving technology.
  • Develops program specific non-destructive testing documents.
  • Interprets codes, standards, and other contractual specifications that control the method used at their Site and/or program(s).
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures for new or revised non-destructive testing methods.
  • Audits, validates and approves systems and techniques of suppliers and processors.
  • Develops certification training and examinations.
  • Develops innovative test processes and equipment.
  • Consults suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues involving tests, processes and equipment.
  • Develops principles and methods for analyzing test, inspection or statistical data.
  • Consults on corrective action to resolve process or product anomalies.
  • Participates on enterprise and industry teams to influence the standardization and regulation of training and certification requirements.
  • Conducts certification preparation training, capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to Trainees, Level I and II NDT Certified personnel.
  • Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products.
