About The Position

Moog's Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Senior New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality Engineer to lead quality planning and execution throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle. This role involves partnering with engineering, manufacturing, customers, and suppliers to ensure innovative aerospace products are developed, qualified, and transitioned into production with the highest levels of quality, reliability, and compliance. The ideal candidate is passionate about problem-solving, process improvement, APQP, and driving quality excellence on complex aerospace programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and their application to quality improvement and process control
  • Experience using quality and business software tools, including statistical, spreadsheet, database, and reporting applications
  • Working knowledge of aerospace quality standards and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting new product development and production transition programs
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes
  • Familiarity with qualification, PPAP, configuration management, traceability, and audit support activities
  • Experience with Common Development Process methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality activities throughout product development, qualification, and production launch
  • Interpret customer and contractual quality requirements and ensure effective flow-down across the organization
  • Support design reviews and influence product development through quality, manufacturing, and risk-based decision making
  • Drive APQP activities and support AS9145-compliant product development processes
  • Develop and implement inspection strategies for receiving, manufacturing, assembly, test, and final inspection operations
  • Lead statistical analysis, process monitoring, variation reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct failure investigations and support root cause and corrective action activities
  • Support qualification testing, conformity inspections, PPAP documentation, and production readiness activities
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders on quality-related matters
  • Drive product and process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and operational performance
