About The Position

The Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator serves as the senior technical operations and platform integration lead supporting the mission-essential HSIN-CI environment. The position focuses on platform stability, technical architecture, environment dependencies, release readiness, incident and problem management, and restoration of capabilities affected by the SharePoint-to-Drupal modernization. Working within Government-controlled hosting and enterprise-service boundaries, the role analyzes legacy and current-state configurations, validates sprint releases, documents defects, coordinates resolution across technical organizations, and develops practical recommendations to improve reliability, search, reporting, security, and mission continuity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible systems engineering, systems administration, platform operations, or enterprise infrastructure experience.
  • Minimum of three years supporting cloud, hybrid, or Government-managed enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience diagnosing complex platform or integration issues and coordinating resolution across multiple technical teams or service providers.
  • Systems architecture, integration analysis, configuration management, and technical documentation.
  • Enterprise platform operations, monitoring, incident management, problem management, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action tracking.
  • Release assessment, regression testing, defect management, and operational-readiness validation.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint information architecture and enterprise content capabilities, including content types, site columns, metadata, permissions, search, filtering, and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Drupal or comparable enterprise content-management platforms and the technical constraints of Government-managed hosting environments.
  • Cloud or hybrid infrastructure, identity and access dependencies, security controls, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to distinguish contractor-controlled issues from Government, hosting, identity, or enterprise-service dependencies and coordinate action without exceeding assigned authority.
  • Ability to convert technical findings into clear risks, options, priorities, and recommendations for nontechnical decision-makers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to program, Government, and stakeholder audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, document decisions, and meet deadlines in an evolving environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, and protect sensitive Government information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DHS HSIN, HSIN-CI, CISA, or a comparable Federal information-sharing environment.
  • Hands-on experience supporting a SharePoint-to-Drupal, content-management, or enterprise-platform migration.
  • Industry-recognized certification such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, ITIL, or a comparable systems or security credential.
  • Experience with test management, issue-tracking, monitoring, configuration-management, and dashboard tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical assessment of the current Drupal-based HSIN-CI environment and its interfaces with Government-managed identity, hosting, network, security, and enterprise services.
  • Analyze the legacy SharePoint architecture, when access and reference materials are available, including content types, site columns, metadata, permissions, search, filtering, reporting, and site configurations; document functional mappings, gaps, and lessons for the current platform.
  • Maintain current-state and target-state technical documentation, including system context, integration points, dependencies, data flows, environment constraints, configuration baselines, and decision records.
  • Review sprint releases and planned changes for technical feasibility, operational impact, security implications, dependencies, regression risk, and readiness for Government testing or deployment.
  • Plan and execute structured technical validation, regression testing, and defect verification for new and changed capabilities; maintain traceable defect records with evidence, severity, impact, reproduction steps, ownership, and status.
  • Coordinate incident and problem management for platform outages, degradation, integration failures, access dependencies, and recurring defects, including root-cause analysis, escalation, workaround documentation, corrective-action tracking, and verification of resolution.
  • Monitor available platform-health, performance, capacity, availability, and error information; identify trends and recommend stabilization or optimization actions within the contract scope.
  • Assess search, reporting, permissions, content-model, and cross-platform integration issues and work with the Senior Web Administrator, developers, Government teams, and service providers to develop technically feasible solutions.
  • Support continuity of operations for a mission-essential information-sharing environment, including after-hours response or coordination when required for high-impact incidents or releases.
  • Provide technical input to capability roadmaps, modernization recommendations, risk registers, release plans, monthly reporting, and briefings for program and Government leadership.
  • Ensure technical activities and recommendations align with DHS 4300A, FISMA, NIST guidance, Section 508 considerations, SBU/FOUO handling requirements, and Government-established architecture and change-control processes.
  • Facilitate technical walkthroughs and knowledge transfer so architecture, configurations, known defects, dependencies, and operational procedures are not concentrated with individual team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the position's responsibilities.

Benefits

  • DHS Suitability is required. The position requires access to unclassified but security-sensitive information, including SBU/FOUO information, and compliance with all applicable DHS security and information-handling requirements. If the Government determines that clearance eligibility is required, the employee must satisfy the applicable eligibility requirement.
