About The Position

MetroSys is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer based in the Greater Phoenix area to support a complex enterprise network environment. This position is hands-on and onsite, with responsibility for network operations, security, troubleshooting, infrastructure improvements, and project delivery. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, VMware NSX, SD-WAN, and enterprise data center networking and is comfortable supporting highly available and regulated environments.

Requirements

  • Must currently reside in the Greater Phoenix, AZ metropolitan area.
  • 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with: Cisco routing and switching
  • Strong hands-on experience with: Palo Alto Networks firewalls
  • Strong hands-on experience with: VMware NSX
  • Strong hands-on experience with: Enterprise WAN and SD-WAN
  • Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, and high-availability networking.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Panorama.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data center environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Phoenix area on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting financial services or other regulated environments.
  • Azure or AWS networking experience.
  • Familiarity with Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or network automation.
  • Cisco CCNP, Palo Alto, VMware, or similar certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, data center, wireless, VPN, and SD-WAN environments.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
  • Administer firewall policies, NAT, VPN connectivity, network segmentation, and security controls.
  • Support VMware NSX and software-defined networking environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, connectivity, firewall, and performance issues.
  • Support multi-site WAN connectivity, branch offices, third-party connections, and carrier services.
  • Participate in infrastructure upgrades, network refreshes, disaster recovery testing, and change activities.
  • Monitor network availability, security, and performance and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain network diagrams, configurations, operational documentation, and standards.
  • Collaborate with local Phoenix-based infrastructure teams as well as cloud, security, systems, and application teams.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call activities as needed.
